The traditional view of school as a place where the transfer or knowledge occurs is changing and its main role in today’s world is not to teach facts but to prepare students for real life challenges. As Albert Einstein said Education is not the learning of facts, but training of the mind to think. Therefore, this shift requires us to redefine the role of teachers and the way learning takes place. The aim of this course is to aid educators in moving their classrooms to a more 21st-century skill-focused environment. Participants will explore various practical ideas connected to learning skills, 4C & Soft skills, and how to apply Montessori Approach in the education of the future. Learning will occur through active participation and hands-on activities suitable and applicable in different subjects and at various levels. Learning outcomes:
- gain a clear understanding of the learning process and learning techniques and how to implement them into their teaching
- adopt various reading, memory and motivational techniques
- learn and experience firsthand practical 4C techniques and activities
- learn about the theory behind the Montessori approach and gain certain methods on the Montessori way of teaching and preparing the students for success
- experience different circle time activities that will help them gain soft skills
- understand the basics of effective problem-solving, mediation, and conflict management
Tentative schedule:
Day 1 – Learning Skills-Powerful Mental Tools
- discover different modes of thinking and how to use these modes to improve your teaching
- mnemonics, reading techniques, mind maps, and other tricks for better learning
Day 2 – 4Cs of the 21st Century Skills: Critical Thinking, Creativity, Communication, Collaboration
- understand the 4C skillset
- learn the variety of techniques and practical activities which boost all of these 4 skills in the classroom.
Day 3– Montessori Method in Teaching: Future In Learning
- introduction to the Montessori Approach
- participate in a model lesson from the Montessori Curriculum to experience the method firsthand
- how to implement the approach into daily activities at school
- create your Montessori material
Day 4 – Work Hard On Your Students’ Soft Skills
- innovative methods of active learning that develop important life skills such as problem-solving, mediation and conflict management
Day 5 – Integration Workshops take Your Lessons to the Next Level and Digital tools for collaboration
- easy to use digital tools for collaboration that work best with students
- presentation of outcomes, discussion, course evaluation and feedback and closing session

Day 6 - Course closure & cultural activities
- Course evaluation: round-up of acquired competencies, feedback, and discussion;
- Awarding of the course Certificate of Attendance;
- Excursion and other external cultural activities.
