Andragogical teaching methods

Craft College has been training teachers working in the adult education system for over a decade. Many institutions, schools, and regional competence centers have entrusted us with their teaching staff, so we can help them through carefully designed training programs to better understand the job, responsibilities, and skills that every adult educator needs today.

Therefore, the education of pedagogical teaching models is specifically aimed at both teaching and non-teaching staff who work with adult learners in their daily activities, both in the teaching and organizational sense. The school will adapt organizationally to each institution through training, which covers the following modules:

  • Needs analysis and planning in adult education
  • The teaching process in adult education
  • Learning and teaching adults
  • Assessment in adult education
  • Methodology for developing curricula and programs.

These training modules can be carried out in several sets over a few days to allow participants to better follow the lessons. The modules follow a sequence that must be adhered to for educational institutions to offer a quality and comprehensive product to adult learners. In recent years, the adult education system in Croatia has undergone significant changes, requiring all institutions involved in adult education to make daily adjustments at several levels. Adult education must be closely linked with a quality system to deliver high-quality educational services, enabling learners to raise their knowledge and skills to a level that is practical and applicable in their daily work with a very high degree of practical application.

The percentage of adult learners in the system has been steadily increasing year by year, further obligating all educational institutions to enrich the educational sector with their services. This sector has assumed great importance within the framework of lifelong learning processes.

Needs analysis and planning in adult education is the first step that must be done thoroughly and correctly, as the other segments depend on how well this step is carried out. The teaching process in adult education differs from the regular education system, so all adult educators must be aware of and have the competencies that will allow them to tailor their work to adult learners, encouraging their life and work experiences in achieving the competencies outlined in educational programs. Life and work experience should not be overlooked when assessing adult education, and should be used whenever possible, especially in updating knowledge and motivating learners. Learners participate in adult education with the main goal of using their newly acquired knowledge and skills in multiple ways, both at work and in everyday life. Motivation, as a crucial factor in learner involvement, should be closely monitored throughout the entire teaching process, especially when developing new curricula and programs.

Today, more than ever, institutions need to carefully track labor market trends and approach the design of educational programs that will quickly find their target group—learners who want to enroll in education programs to offer their knowledge and skills to the labor market.

The new era requires the educational system to react and act swiftly. Contact us with confidence to help you through the education of pedagogical teaching models, bringing you closer to the challenges of adult education and how to keep up with the current needs of lifelong learning.
