Work Hard on Soft Skills

Description:

This course Work Hard on Soft Skills is aimed at teachers and school staff from primary to adult level as well as educational advisors and staff of non-government organizations, government, and policymakers. Hard skills, also known as academic knowledge, are often the direct focus of education and the skills considered necessary in all fields of employment. Soft skills, however, are the interpersonal and intrapersonal abilities that determine your success not only in the workplace– they help you live better in every aspect of your life.

Unlike hard skills, soft skills are not industry or role-specific, but rather skills that relate to personality and behavior. While hard skills such as data analysis, reporting or mathematical ability, can be taught with relative ease, soft skills training can be more challenging as it involves teaching new behaviors and ways of thinking. During this course, parcipants will deepen their understanding of soft skills and through hands-on approach learn techniques and activities to promote leadership, mediation, creativity, problem-Solving, communication and collaboration. Participants will learn to transform the prevailing theories of communication, as well as emotional and social intelligence, into practical experiences in their classroom.
