Description:

This course introduces educators to the transformative potential of AI in the classroom, with a focus on using Chat GPT. Participants will explore the benefits and challenges of AI in education, learn how to create interactive, personalized learning experiences, and integrate AI tools into lesson plans. Practical activities will guide educators in designing AI-assisted lessons and addressing ethical concerns such as privacy and AI errors. The course also covers how to evaluate the impact of AI on student engagement and learning outcomes, equipping teachers with the skills to enhance teaching with AI while maintaining a balanced, ethical approach.

Day 1. Introduction to AI in Education

  • Welcome and Icebreaker Activity;
  • Overview of AI and Its Role in Education;
  • Understanding Chat GPT;
  • Benefits and Challenges of Using AI in Education.

Day 2. Practical Applications of Chat GPT

  • Creating Interactive Learning Experiences;
  • Demonstration: Chat GPT in Action;
  • Hands-on Activity: Designing AI-assisted Activities;
  • Discussion: Personalizing Learning with Chat GPT.

Day 3. Integrating Chat GPT into Lesson Plans

  • Identifying Opportunities for AI Integration;
  • Interactive Session: Developing an AI-inclusive Lesson Plan;
  • Peer Feedback: Assessing and Refining AI-enabled Lessons.

Day 4. Addressing Ethical and Practical Considerations

  • Ethical Use of AI in Education;
  • Strategies for Managing AI Misunderstandings and Errors;
  • Balancing AI Use with Traditional Teaching Methods.

Day 5. Evaluating the Impact of AI in the Classroom

  • Measuring Student Engagement and Learning Outcomes;
  • Collecting and Analyzing Feedback from Students;
  • Adjusting Strategies Based on Evaluation;
  • Identifying Success Stories and Learning Points.

Day 6: Course closure & cultural activities

  • Course evaluation: round-up of acquired competencies, feedback, and discussion;
  • Awarding of the course Certificate of Attendance;
  • Excursion and other external cultural activities.
