Project Summary
The Association of Craftsmen of the City of Zagreb has signed a grant agreement for the project "The Ugly Side of Beauty" (2013-1-HR01-KA210-VET0001672444). The project is valued at 60,000 euros and will be implemented from September 1, 2023, to February 28, 2025, as part of the Erasmus+ program, within the framework of Key Action 2 Small Partnership in the field of vocational education and training.
The project is focused on acquiring new knowledge in the area of green skills, proper waste disposal during practical training, promoting the use of sustainable resources and materials, and transferring skills and knowledge about ecology and eco-friendly products to members of the sector and craftsmen involved in apprenticeships. The main activities of this small partnership will be the transfer of knowledge on how to be more sustainable, reduce waste in daily business operations, and pass on this knowledge to the sector and future hairdressing and cosmetology students.
The goal of the project is to raise awareness of the impact of cosmetic products on nature and reduce the generation of cosmetic waste in the beauty sector. It aims to strengthen the mentoring capacity of craftsmen in the beauty and cosmetics sector in the areas of sustainability, green skills, and the application of sustainable practices during apprenticeships.
Activities will include familiarizing participants with foreign institutions and organizations in the cosmetics and beauty sector, as well as with content related to education in ecology and environmental issues, and the transfer of knowledge from vocational education mentors, specifically expert teachers, to apprentices and vocational school students in the beauty and cosmetics sector. Additionally, the project will involve specialized training for hairdressing and cosmetology mentors, and the creation of documents and other materials that will serve as guidelines for improving the implementation of apprenticeships and vocational training, as well as enhancing the knowledge of vocational teachers and mentors in Croatia.
